The Fault in Our Stars

Author: John Greene

Genre: YA

In a Snapshot: Hazel, a sixteen-year-old terminal cancer patient falls in love with seventeen-year-old Augustus, a hunky cancer survivor and amputee.

Why I picked it up and why I couldn’t put it downThe Fault in the Stars was the book selection for my monthly book club. As someone who has personally dealt with this disease, Greene’s portrayal of living with cancer hit a raw nerve that terrified and soothed me at the same time.

Who will like this? Those who are always looking for clever, thought-provoking prose, and those who just love gut-wrenching love stories.

A Favorite Quote:

You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.
