Author: Jay Asher
In a Snapshot: Clay receives a box of cassette tapes from former crush Hannah Baker, who committed suicide only two weeks ago. Everyone who recieves the cassettes is one of thirteen reasons why Hannah gave up on life.
Why I picked it up and why I couldn’t put it down: This book has literally been on my reading wish list for five years now. I read it in one sitting and got to bed WAY past my bedtime. It’s THAT good.
Who will like this? Those who can handle the mature nature of suicide and sexuality. Those who like edgy and dark themes.
A Favorite Quote:
“You don’t know what goes on in anyone’s life but your own. And when you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re not messing with just that part. Unfortunately, you can’t be that precise and selective. When you mess with one part of a person’s life, you’re messing with their entire life. Everything. . . affects everything.”
